(DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER APPLICATION)

 

The DCA course is a short-term diploma program designed to equip students with essential computer skills, preparing them for various roles in the IT industry and office environments. This course is perfect for individuals who want to gain a strong foundation in computer applications without diving into deeply technical areas.

Module I

Basics of Computers

  • Introduction to computer systems and components (hardware & software).
  • Understanding how computers work.

Operating Systems

  • Overview of Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, Mac OS).
  • File Management: Creation, deletion, and management of files/folders.

Windows OS Interface

  • Introduction to Windows operating system features (taskbar, start menu, etc.).
  • Managing system settings and personalizing Windows.

Microsoft Office Suite

MS Word

  • Document creation, formatting, and editing.
  • Use of advanced features like tables, styles, and page setup.

MS Excel

  • Spreadsheet creation, cell formatting, data analysis.
  • Functions and formulas for calculations.

MS PowerPoint

  • Creating effective presentations.
  • Working with slides, animations, and multimedia.

MS Access

  • Introduction to database management.
  • Creating and managing databases, tables, and queries.

Module Test Paper II – Duration: 1 Hour

Internet & Email Basics

  • Internet Basics
  • Browsing websites, search engines, and internet protocols.

Understanding internet safety and privacy.

Email Usage

  • Setting up email accounts.
  • Sending, receiving, and organizing emails.
  • Attachments, CC/BCC, and email etiquette.

Module IV

Adobe Photoshop Basics

Introduction to Photoshop

  • Understanding the Photoshop interface and tools.
  • Creating and editing images, using layers, and working with colors.

Basic Image Editing

  • Cropping, resizing, and adjusting images.
  • Using filters and effects to enhance photos.

Practical Assignments

Hands-on tasks to apply basic Photoshop skills.

Module Test Paper IV – Duration: 1 Hour

Certification

  • Upon successful completion of all modules and the final exam, students will receive a Certificate in Diploma in Computer Application (DCA).
